Flying Into Key West
Key West (EYW)

If you're not up for the drive down to Key West, you can fly directly into Key West International Airport.  American Airlines, Continental, Delta and US Air all fly into Key West and you can catch flights directly into Key West from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Naples and Atlanta.

All the major car rental agencies are available at the airport, or you can take the Keys Shuttle - Phone: +1 (305) 289 9997 - if you would rather avoid driving downtown.  Not a bad idea, as parking can be a little tricky in many locations around Duval Street.

Flying Into Miami
Miami International Airport (MIA)

Miami International Airport is the largest airport in the region, and offers you the chance to spend some time in the region.  The airport caters for most of the major domestic carriers, and also offers international flights (if needed).  The airport is about 20-30 minutes drive (in moderate traffic) from downtime and South Beach, as well as from Coconut Grove, Coral Gables as well as our house.

Driving from Miami to Key West
The drive from Miami International Airport to Key West is around three to four hours depending on traffic - best to plan an extra hour or two to be safe.  There's plenty to see along the way if you want to take a more leisurely trip down.

Flying Into Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)

Many of the secondary domestic airlines fly into Fort Lauderdale, and you might be able to get a better deal here.  The airport is about 45 minutes north of downtown Miami, so factor this into your plans and a cab ride to downtown could be around $75.
